The beach drama

The big news around these parts (and I'm typing at you from the shore, so today it's "these parts") is that a whole lot of beaches were closed due to medical waste washing up onto the shore. I'm sure this will prompt a lot of "New Jersey is dirty" jokes, but let's be honest: it's not the beach's fault that some idiot dumped medical waste into the water. And considering the officials think it's sabotage? That has nothing to do with the quality of our beaches, just the stupidity of people.

Check with your local beach patrol to see how things are doing on your beach today. And enjoy the shore -- seriously. It's a great place to be.

P.S. Want to follow someone else's blog of vacationing at the Jersey Shore without the news updates, your shore weekend reports and 'vote for me' pleas? ;-) Click here. They had a much longer road to travel to get here than I did.
