Your Shore Weekend

Saturday's the big day: The Ocean City Block Party. From 9am to 4pm, it'll be one mile of food, crafts, entertainment and even a car show from 5th to 14th street along Asbury Avenue. Here's an article about what'll be going on.

Of course the most important event happening tomorrow is the many author signings at Sun Rose Words & Music, including yours truly. I'll be starting, Sharpie at the ready, at 10am and hope to stay until the end -- that is, if my hand holds up.

So I'll to see you there! If you've never taken a walk down Asbury, it's a trip -- straight out of the 1950s or (for you kids) Hill Valley in the first Back to the Future movie.

Elsewhere down the shore:

Jimmy Eat World's
at Trump Taj Mahal tonight (sigh -- no way I could swing that concert and get up early the next morning. Good luck tonight, boys! "Big Casino" is my song!).

Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z are playing Boardwalk Hall; Third Eye Blind's at the Tropicana; and Tracy Morgan's at the Borgata on Saturday night.

There's also something called "Night of 1000 Guidos" at the AC Hilton on May 4 and 6-9. Should I be offended?

Love Seat Mama Jump's playing at the OD in Sea Isle on Saturday.

The Wheaton Glass Blowers will be set up outside the Emelen Physick Estate in Cape May on Saturday and Sunday.

And there's a few birding tours at the Wetlands Institute in Stone Harbor this weekend, too.
