The most important thing about this week is that I'll be doing a book signing at Pale Moon Boutique in Avalon from 6-8pm on Saturday. But that's not an entirely selfish message because 100% of the proceeds from Saturday's book sale are going to the Brendan Borek High Tides Memorial Fund. That's right -- 100%. So if you haven't gotten your copy yet, or you want to buy them as Christmas gifts, Saturday's the time to do it. My book signing is also the kick of for a week of events that all benefit the fund, so check it out.
I made a mistake in last week's "Your Shore Weekend" -- Tour de Shore (a bar tour on bikes, in costume) is this Sunday. My apologies for the mistake. Speaking of, does anyone else get the "UN Official Newsletter" from Quimby? What's the beef with The Princeton? Inquiring minds would like to know...
It's also an important calendar date: 8/8/08. Last year, we had 7/7/07, but 8 is a lucky number in a lot of Asian cultures. Asian gaming is big in Atlantic City, so if you're going to the casinos tonight, ask about any 8/8/08 specials.
The big Friday Night concert in Atlantic City is Maroon Five and Counting Crows at the Borgata.
Also on Friday, and also at the Borgata, is KT Tunstall.
On Saturday night, Stone Temple Pilots play the Borgata.
The Miss Ocean City Pageant is on Saturday night.
There's a US Air Force Liberty Band Concert in Avalon tonight at 7pm. Check it out at Veterans Plaza.
I don't quite get wrestling, but if you do, WWE is camped out in Wildwood tonight.
This is always a sight: the United Way of Cape May County's Rubber Ducky Regatta is on Sunday at Raging Waters Water Park at Morey's Piers. Rubber Ducky, you really are the one.
If you're in Cape May today, check out the Sand Sculpture Contest at 2nd Avenue and the Beach.
